The Pacifica: HISTORY & DNA

The Chrysler Pacifica is taking the automotive industry by storm as the first ever hybrid minivan

Over the years I’ve done episodes and blogs around the idea of an SUV actually be sexy. I’ve come face-to-face with folks who said they can be and explicitly gave me too much information as to why and then I’ve had people say specifically that minivans are absolutely the most boring contraptions ever created. Well as a relates to the 2019 Pacifica hybrid limited I must absolutely put this in a very very rare category of probably the sexiest minivan I’ve seen in years

Like all vehicles, the Pacifica comes has one is a hybrid electric with a base price of $45,545 topping out at the model we tested at $50,800.

THE DRIVE, PERFORMANCE & SAFETY

Here’s another reason this SUV is so sexy; the drive. When it comes to the performance we absolutely must start with a 3.6 liter V6 hybrid engine (gas and electric) combined delivers an astounding 82 mpg or 30 miles per gallon with gasoline only. That V6 engine kicks butt in a major way right from the moment you step on the gas and feel a sudden, powerful yet smooth acceleration and dynamic handling. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid seamlessly switches from electric to gas for greater peace of mind. Performance tech also includes the onboard electronic stability control, and radial breaking. Not bad at all for a minivan huh?

EXTERIOR DESIGN

Its impressive! A sporty stance and sleek angle makes the Pacifica stand out in the minivan segment. With exclusive black interior details and exterior black accents throughout, the available S Appearance Package is dressed to impress. Outside you got the 18-in by 7.5-in black noise painted wheels, very creative,

INSIDE

Interior feels premium and upscale including racy, comfy Napa leather bucket seats with the s logo, an attractive, high tech dash and center stack area and lots of legroom for everyone in the vehicle. I particularly enjoyed blasting the 2- speaker Harmon Kardon speaker sound group providing 760 watts of power.

The entire family, especially those in the second row will absolutely enjoy the Blu-ray DVD player, and the double overhead retractable sunroofs. There are helpful accents like multiple HDMI ports and USB video ports that were available from front to back with this vehicle and more than enough storage pockets for your extra stuff, phones, drinks and such.

SAFETY

This is where the Pacifica shines. With a five star safety rating, the Pacifica has airbags everywhere; a latch-ready child seat and blind spot blind spot and cross-path detection. Its a minivan, so the park sense helps as well as the rear park assist with stop assist.

Another crafty safety feature is the 360 surround view camera system, but there’s also a full speed forward collision warning plus, as well as land departure and warning plus there’s a parallel and perpendicular parking assist.

HYBRID INNOVATION

The lithium-ion battery is the heart of the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. It works seamlessly with the engine to deliver up to 32 miles on a single charge. The available 240-volt Mopar charger lets you fully charge your Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid in just two hours. The battery self charges via regenerative braking, which captures energy from the brakes when they are applied.

In addition to the $7,500 federal tax credit, you may be able to take advantage of state and local incentives as well.

I think with this vehicle you’re looking at the future of SUVs and what they going to achieve as well as seeing technology that will continue to involve so kudos to Chrysler for continuing to upgrade and refresh the Pacifica in this case a hybrid that has a v6 engine and lots and lots of driving excitement if you can say that for an SUV.
